Haberdash
A few months ago, I wrote a post about boundaries. I confessed to my near inability to say no to people when they ask me to do something and bemoaned my sometimes (ok, most of the time) overloaded schedule. So, let me preface this entry by saying that I ASKED TO BE A PART OF THIS PROJECT. Why? Because I’m passionate about helping people build confidence through personal style and I wanted the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of what seems like a fantastic, fun opportunity.
With that said, let me introduce the project I am referring to. It’s called Haberdash, and it’s a yet-to-launch fashion website (in the tech world, we call this a start-up company) that helps people discover their fashion DNA. If I could compare it to an existing website, I’d say it’s like Pandora for fashion. You tell Haberdash what
apparel items you like or dislike and the algorithm that powers the website will determine your fashion DNA and send you items (and most importantly, items on sale) that fit your personal style.
I first found out about Haberdash at SLO Startup Weekend, an event where aspiring entrepreneurs and founders pitched their ideas for a potential Internet company to a group of investors and college professors. Haberdash won first place at the event. I interviewed Haberdash founder Mike Vihuela for the Experts Exchange Podcast, and through our interview I discovered that Haberdash needed a Marketing Director. The rest is history.
As previously mentioned, Haberdash is still in pre-launch phase, but if you want to receive updates on the site–and be among the first to know when it launches–send us your email address. And in the meantime, be sure to follow Haberdash on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. (Yours truly is the mastermind behind the tweets and pins that you’ll be seeing soon.)
Thanks in advance for the support, friends. I’m looking forward to sharing this new venture with all of you!
